[SOLVED] LightDM not loading.

I've tried once to swap to lightdm. After installing did the follow.

sudo systemctl disable gdm
sysdo systemctl enable lightdm

So far so good.

When I restarted it didn't load lightdm. So I've logged into another tty and swap back to gdm.

Now I'm trying to make it work.
Installed lightdm-gtk-greeter and am trying to test it using lightdm test mode, here is the full command used and output.

If the issue is only on boot and early KMS is not enabled have you tried LightDM#LightDM_does_not_appear_or_monitor_only_displays_TTY_output?

But shouldn't I be able to run LightDM from current session terminal emulator (XFCE)  with the test command. As I read the link you sent, it says it is caused by something not loaded/ready at the time LightDM service loads. But if this is the scenario, i think it should run from terminal emulator inside a xfce4 session, shouldn't it?

If the lightdm test mode was working as expected.  The failure of the test mode is not related to the initial issue but due to permissions.

Restarted after doing Loqs suggestion and it worked. Will remove the option and restart again to check if it was it that made it work.

Just restarted, think the problem was that I had not installed a greeter ( lightdm-gtk-greeter ) before.
Also, after this reboot I'm able to run test local.
