[Solved itself] gpg not working anymore

Hello, this is my first time posting here since I usually try to fix things myself but I just can't get this to work. I'm trying to use the pass program to manage my passwords but every time I try to add one it outputs:

gpg: connecting dirmngr at '/run/user/1000/gnupg/S.dirmngr' failed: IPC connect call failed
gpg: error retrieving 'example@gpg' via WKD: No dirmngr
gpg: example@gpg: skipped: No dirmngr
gpg: [stdin]: encryption failed: No dirmngr
Password encryption aborted.

I tried searching online and have been trying various fixes for about an hour and a half now. Any help would be appreciated as gpg seems to not even work anymore

It somehow worked after I restarted?
