[SOLVED]xrandr not working after new 'fbcon=rotate:1' kernel parameter

When I add the kernel parameters

fbcon=rotate:1

and

vga=795

and reboot, my framebuffer is rotated and has the resolution I want, but when the X Server is started my xrandr settings aren't honored anymore.

This is what xrandr says:

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1024x768       0.00*
   800x600        0.00
   640x480        0.00

xrandr looks like you're running on the VESA driver - please post your xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General

"not working" is the VESA driver, "working" is the nvidia blog, you lack nvidia-lts

Doh! I was only using linux-lts because of this bug: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/74291. Also I should know better as my previous thread was this exact problem. Sorry; I'll try hard not to be so foolish in future
