I've had this problem intermittently for a couple of months. When it first occurred, I found a topic somewhere that told me to update KDE and after that it worked again. Then it stopped working. Now it sometimes works after a reboot, sometimes it starts working again after I kill / restart plasma and kwin. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes without reboot, sometimes without update. It seems to work reliably under xfce. I tried deleting the configuration multiple times, reset to default, safe-mode, SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3, SAL_DISABLE_OPENCL=1 and various other solutions for similar looking problems (libreoffice freezing / hanging on splash screen). Also tried disconnecting Internet. No luck. Not reliably.
Sometimes, when I just leave it running, libreoffice suddenly pops open after 10-40 minutes, sometimes it never opens (left it running for 12+ hours). I tried messing around with strace, but don't really know what to look for. While staring at the output scoll by, some words popped out, like:
"Resource temporarily unavailable"
"kdeglobals"
"emaildefaults", (Invalid argument)
I edited and deleted some random files that were mentioned prior to whatever seemingly endless loop libreoffice gets stuck in.
Aaand while looking around in the kde settings app, I might have just (temporarily) fixed it (again) by changing the KDE proxy setting from "automatic" to "no proxy".
Anyone have an idea what's going on or how to fix this permanently?
