KDE auto rotate seems to be broken

I installed a package called "iio-sensor-proxy", to give my convertible laptop running KDE the ability to auto rotate when I flipped the lid of my laptop all the way around into a tablet configuration. After installing it, the orientation of my laptop's display would be inverted when flipped it into the tablet configuration magically. Now it's stopped working and I'm not sure why. I First noticed it a few days ago after I finished migrating all the files in my home and root partitions in to one because I kept running out of space in the root partition, though I think that has nothing to do with it. I might have accidentally uninstalled a package needed for auto rotating to work (I don't think so), I might be a bug in package introduced after an update (if that is the case I have no idea which package) or it might be caused my something that I haven't thought of. I've also noticed that the graphics platform is X11 in the "about this system" section in System Settings even though I've set the desktop session to be Wayland in SDDM.

Has anyone had/is anyone having the same issue?
Could someone please help me work out why auto rotate has stopped working and if possible, how to fix it.
Thanks.
