External microphone does not work.

Hello there, I have a headphone that has a built-in microphone. My laptop has an internal microphone and works well but when I connect the headphones the internal microphone gets disabled and it uses the headphones microphone. The problem with that is in Linux the headphones microphone can not get any sound. As for a test, I tried the same setup on Windows 10 and didn't have the same issue. I also tried another brands headphone, which gave the same results. I checked alsamixer and nothing is muted there. I also checked pavucontrol, in input devices it says "Port: Microphone (plugged in)" but it shows no signs of any sound input in the playback.
