Started happening after the big GNOME 42 update. I can't view any images because eog refuses to launch. When I run
eog image.jpgI get this error:
Failed to register: Timeout was reachedRebooting doesn't help either. I've reinstalled with
sudo pacman -Rcns eog && pacman -Syyu && pacman -S eogbut it still doesn't work. Interestingly, running
sudo eog image.jpgworks. But it outputs this:
(eog:8645): dconf-WARNING **: 12:16:20.341: failed to commit changes to dconf: Error spawning command line “dbus-launch --autolaunch=b08dfa6083e7567a1921a715000001fb --binary-syntax --close-stderr”: Child process exited with code 1My setup:

gnome-shell 1:42.0-1
gdm 42.0+r11+g4a52f026-1
linux-hardened 5.17.5.hardened1-1
nvidia-dkms 510.68.02-1on a Wayland session.

Tried the non hardened kernel? How exactly are you loading your session? There should be a shared DBUS instance and it sounds like your DBUS session is broken, what do you get from
printenv | grep DBUS
systemctl --user statusOffline
I haven't tried the regular kernel. I've been using the hardened kernel for 5 years now, used it when it was called grsec as well. I'm using GDM to auto-login into a GNOME on Wayland session. This eog problem only started happening after the big GNOME 42 update.
Output of
printenv | grep DBUSDBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:path=/run/user/1000/busOutput of
systemctl --user status● Arch
