pamac-aur hangs for several minutes when checking for updates

Hi fellow humans,

when pamac-aur is checking for updates, it needs just a second or so to achieve 90% progress and then hangs for about 15 minutes. After that the updates can be installed swiftly. When using

 pamac checkupdates

there is the same delay. Mirrors are ok, there is no such delay when using pacman or yay. Where do I start to look?
