Microphone records output audio.

Hello, i'm relative new to linux and never needed to use my microphone except today.

The problem is: input audio is picking up output audio, for example when talking to discord and have a chrome tab playing a video, others can hear both me and the video.

Lowering PCM in alsamixer, i can record my voice without picking up other tabs/apps, but of course i can't listen to anything when PCM is set to 0 so this is not a fix.

I also tried connecting 2 headsets, 1 for using the mic and 1 for the audio but the problem still exits.

Might help :

Re: Microphone records output audio.

it should if you are actively recording something via discord or so. Do they actually get the full volume or is it just feedback from e.g. your speakers or so? While I'd usually associate the setting with the thing you want to prevent, does setting

amixer -c1 set 'Loopback Mixing',0 'Enabled'

help?
