Cant Configure Apache2 Properly

Guys i know this is not relevant place to ask this question. But i am asking because i know that you guys could help me better than stackoverflow on this.

Issue: I am trying to change Apache2 Project directory to /home/username/Projects from /srv/http but everytime i try this i get Forbidden error and following error when i check /var/log/httpd/error_log

[Tue May 31 20:49:30.377425 2022] [core:crit] [pid 21966] (13)Permission denied: [client 127.0.0.1:45720] AH00529: /home/username/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable and that '/home/username/' is executable

if place Projects inside /srv/http than website will work but my tools cant open it because root only have access to it.

Please help me out to replace /srv/http with custom path so that i can manage my project easily.

Why is it not relevant? Is this on an arch linux system or not?

EDIT: oh, nevermind, this is WSL. You were told previously that this is not supported here, yet you chose to deliberately ignore the rule??

Then there's a far better solution than trying to move everything under your home directory: just set permissions on /srv/http and your web content so your user can access it. I believe with Apache that content would have http:http ownership. You can add your user to the http group and you'll be set (you may also need to set g+w on files and g+x on directories, but I'm pretty sure this is the default).

2. Yes i did as per instruction and again website works when i put it inside /srv/http

But still, you have completely avoided the only on-topic question posed which was present from the error message in your very first post. What are the permissions on the file and directory referred to in the error message?!

You're showing /srv, that's not relevant as that's not where the content is, and that's not what the error message referred to.

There's the problem. As the initial error message said, the http user does not have access to the content you want it to use (assuming you paraphrased the error message and it referred to /home/dotsinspace/ not /home/username).

The apache server runs as the user "http" and you log in as the user "dotsinspace". The http user can no more easily access content owned by dotsinspace than dotsinspace can access the http-owned (or root-owned) content under /srv/. You need to assign group/owner permissions so the http user can access the content you want to serve an can "execute" all directories leading up to that content.

I don't think that /home/ normally has permissions of 0700 on an arch system (as yours does) - all mine are 0755. Which instructions did you follow in order to install this system?
