Until today's update I was using nvidia-515.43.04-2 and nvidia-prime with 5.18.1-arch1-1
and everything was running great, but after updating to nvidia-515.48.07-7 I can no longer use my GPU.
I've tried running mkinitcpio -g IMAGE after updating, but it does not work. I think I remember reading somewhere one needs to force update the kernel when updating nvidia, but I can't remember how that is done.
For now, I have restored a timeshift backup from earlier today so I can use my system.
What am I missing?

You do not need to force update the kernel. You do need to rebuild the initramfs *if* you have added the module to it, but you can do that with mkinitcpio. Not sure why you would write something to a file called IMAGE, though, you need to generate for the preset for your kernel, or for all presets.

Because when I did just mkinitcpio it said it just did a dry run and suggested I do -g IMAGE to write an actual image. It would appear I misunderstood something.

How do I do this?

Thank you.
mkinitcpio -P did it.
