grub-install unstable system

documentation states the parameter is

--efi-directory=/boot/efi

instead i used

--efi-directory=/boot

system is working now fine but some previous folder of older installations like microsoft+Boot+ubuntu+debian+arch+EFI... i just deleted them by using 'sudo rm -r'...

system was listing some new lines to the efi partition each new boot to the system adding the last line you see listed 0004

~]$ efibootmgr devices
BootCurrent: 0001
Timeout: 1 seconds
BootOrder: 0001,0000,0004
Boot0000* arch
Boot0001* GRUB
Boot0004* UEFI: ST500LT012-1DG142, Partition 1

and 'grub rescue' was not showing when grub broke.... i've not checked if the rescue console is working available back again... but at least it stopped adding that UEFI entry

...also the system was very unstable crashing to a blank screen with cursor at the top left

Re: grub-install unstable system

sorry but apparently the issue was the seagate hdd

the uefi is detecting it but is showing 0 gigabytes

i ran smartctl but it didn't show errors for

-l long

modifier

i thought it was related to grub or telegram-desktop.... well it lasted since 2016

cheers!
