how to correct libx11 bug

A friend has fallen foul of the reported bug with libx11 on XFCE. Restart after full update, login and all that works is mouse movement.

I understand the solution is to downgrade libx11 until a fix is done, but I am not sure how to downgrade the file when there is no way to log in.

Re: how to correct libx11 bug

Update again and make sure you get 1.18.1-2 which was compiled with the problematic flag reverted for the time being.

As for "no way to log in" you should still have a non graphical environment you can reach via Ctrl+Alt+F2-9 if these absolutely do not work add systemd.unit=multi-user.target to your https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_parameters
