"Cannot load adshow.mfx"

Every time I try to load certain steam games, "Cannot load adshow.mfx" pops up.
Is there a software that can fix this, or is this a problem with steam proton/wine.

adshow mfx seems to come from an extension called Active Direct show that's only supported on windows .

Are those games listed in steam or wine databases as working on linux  ?
(wine database is at https://appdb.winehq.org/ , no idea where steam db is) .
