Can someone guess what is in fault for this behavior of Firefox (no other program seems to react like this) with KDE 5.25?

Maybe try disabling hardware acceleration in firefox.
What gfx card and driver do you have?

Your are not alone. After Plasma 5.25 I get flicker and artifacts when I tile my windows left or right. This is much worse with Thunderbird.
Here is my clip: https://webmshare.com/5KWEL
I'm on X11 session with AMD graphics.
Disabling HWA does not help.
For me this happens only with Firefox and Thunderbird.

I've also got this issue on my X11/NVIDIA (proprietary) machine. I filed a bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455675
Right now, the only workaround is to disable compositing entirely (default Alt+Shift+F12).

I solved my issue by enabling the resize effect.

How do you enable the resize effect? I can't find the option.

Sorry, it is the Maximize Effect. System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Desktop Effect > Maximize

Unfortunately that solution doesn't work on my computer, even after reboot I still get the flickering
Happy you've found a solution though!!

Good news! It looks like this bug is fixed in 5.25.1: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455675#c4
Edit: Just updated to 5.25.1, the bug is gone <3
