I am brand new to arch (moving my old desktop from Ubuntu). I've just installed and I'm having trouble with my dialup. I have a Lucent linmodem, and I have installed the martian drivers. I can dial in successfully and I get a welcome signal and I'm assigned an ip address. However, when I try and ping a host, it acts like I'm not connected.
BTW, I'm glad I found Arch... I feel like I'll know linux a lot better than a preconfigured system.

Make your /etc/resolv.conf a symlink to /etc/ppp/resolv.conf, that should be the most straightforward approach.

Worked like a charm!

Cool.
Did you use the ltmodem Arch package? If so, would you mind posting your lspci line from your modem? Each time I try to open /dev/ttyLTM0 here my laptop freezes.

Ooops, sorry, I got distracted for several months. I didn't mean to be rude and leave you hangin after you helped me. For what its worth, I never did install ltmodem (i couldn't even find it!)

Yeah, no problem. The Arch ltmodem package uses the -alk drivers and not the current martian approach, so it's no wonder it never worked for me.
