HP AMD 5500U Laptop weird suspend\resume behavior

I know this falls into "because ACPI" category, but I appreciate if someone share where to look and is this even possible to fix.

So, I have a laptop. It's HP laptop powered by Ryzen 5 5500U mobile CPU(APU?), you might guessed that bit by reading the title. Also, I'm using vanilla Gnome from Arch repo.

On lid close it should go to suspend. Id does. But as soon as battery state changes (i.e. I plug\or unplug power cord) it goes out of suspend even with lid closed, waits a while, and then goes back to sleep. That's the behavior from something around linux 5.15+.
Before that, it would go out of suspend and just sit idle with fans spinning like crazy.
On 5.10- it wouldn't go to sleep on lid close at all.

So, we're making some progress here. smile

Are there any HP AMD laptop users? Is it even possible to fix?
I don't have access to that laptop at moment, so I can't post any useful info here, but I'm mostly looking for advise where to look to begin with.

Thanks!

Re: HP AMD 5500U Laptop weird suspend\resume behavior

What you can do depends on the precise laptop model.

When you have access to the machine, grab a journal of the boot where you tried to replicate the issue.

Some starting points:
- Read up on the Arch wiki for your machine or the general page for suspending to find out if the problem has been worked around before.
- Try to replicate using the current linux package or latest linux-mainline.
- Try updating the machine's BIOS.
