[KDE/Plasma] No Custom Shortcuts anymore

Hi All,

I used to be able to add custom shortcuts by opening System Settings → Custom Shortcuts. But now there's no option for me to do that anymore. Here's a screenshot.

Here's my system info:

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0
Qt Version: 5.15.5
Kernel Version: 5.15.52-1-lts (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 15.4 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 20XY0023US
System Version: ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6

I have

khotkeys

and

kmenuedit

installed. (I already tried reinstalling them, and it didn't change anything.)

Thanks in advance

Woks okay here on a one day old install.  Only differences are that you are running the LTS kernel and Wayland.   What happens if you try X11?

Yep, Wayland was the problem. If I run under X11 I see the custom shortcuts box. Nothing under Wayland!

Any suggestions on a workaround? (Thanks to individual display scaling, I have to use Wayland...)

Sorry, no.  I mostly have used Wayland under Gnome.  Only played with it under KDE and was left with the impression it is improving, but not quite ready for prime time.

Fairly certain this works here, but not on my system so can't actively check right now

Custom Shortcuts has been disabled on Wayland. You should be able to replicate its functionality by using custom scripts and the Shortcuts KCM.

Curious,  do you know why?

Well, if nothing else, that is pragmatic smile

Re: [KDE/Plasma] No Custom Shortcuts anymore

If you go to System Settings -> Shortcuts and then choose an application and click on it - (I just checked this, and I am running Plasma Wayland), then you get default shortcuts, and can list and add custom shortcuts for each application.  Indeed you can add any application to the list and add custom shortcuts for it.   So it does seem to all be there but may be in a different place to where it was in previous versions. (This is version 5.25.2-1)
