I have searched on google and found nothing about getting Wine working and how it works. I want to be able to use Visual Studio 2005 because we have to use it in school.

Open a terminal and run winecfg.

Install wine:
# pacman -S wine
Configure wine:
$ winecfg
All other things are not arch specific. You should refer to winehq.com. But if you have question you're still welcome to ask here, I think. (:
Some information about how to use wine generally:
Just install apps / games / whatever via:
wine SETUP.exe
And run apps with:
wine /path/to/cool/app.exe
My expirience with wine are: Either it works or it does not (and you have to wait til the next version and hope it fixes the bug that causes your program no to run). There is no much ability of tweaking and if it's mostly documented in winehq's application database (patches, how tos, etc.).
