With plasma-desktop 5.25.3-1 I find that the lockscreen has a new feature, that when entering the password to unlock and get back to the plasma desktop session (in plasma Wayland), on pressing enter once the password is in, I get a screen with a button saying 'unlock' - and then have to click that to unlock and get back to the session. I really think that is overkill, and would like the original behaviour when entering the password and hitting enter was all that was needed to unlock the screen - does anyone know how to get back to that original one-step unlock from the screensaver?

I had not seen this, but yes it does appear to be a new feature that no one asked for. I checked the forums at KDE and no one has brought it up yet. I checked and I do not have any option available to turn this off. What were they thinking?

Yes it is a retrograde step in my view too.

Ever worse for me, is when I put in my password, I get the unlock button and when I press it, it won't unlock! I'm stuck having to drop to a prompt and restart sddm.

I guess my best suggestion would be registering on the KDE forum and posting about it.

It's just a bug, and an already fixed one:

Well, at least it is identified and hopefully the fixed version will reach the repos soon.

mcloaked, can you please edit the title of the thread and start it with [SOLVED] ?

I was waiting until the fixed packages were in the repos, and I had a chance to update, and test that it is fixed. I can now confirm that the Plasma Screenlocker is fixed in plasma-wayland-session (5.25.3-1 -> 5.25.3.1-1) and plasma-workspace (5.25.3-1 -> 5.25.3.1-1) which reached the arch repos a short time ago, so I will now mark this as solved.
