log

Hi!

After yesterdays morning and afternoon update I have very slow Internet - surfing is a masochism.
And I have also something new in the /var/log/everything:

syslog-ng[2986]: Log statistics; processed='center(queued)=1091', processed='center(received)=380', processed='destina
tion(console)=0', processed='destination(mail)=0', processed='destination(user)=1', processed='destination(uucp)=0', processed='destination(m
essages)=331', processed='destination(news)=0', processed='destination(iptables)=0', processed='destination(everything)=379', processed='dest
ination(lpr)=0', processed='destination(cron)=0', processed='destination(syslog)=1', processed='destination(authlog)=1', processed='destinati
on(errors)=2', processed='destination(kernel)=356', processed='destination(daemon)=20', processed='source(src)=380'
Dec 13 06:12:07 athena syslog-ng[2986]: Log statistics; processed='center(queued)=1093', processed='center(received)=381', processed='destina
tion(console)=0', processed='destination(mail)=0', processed='destination(user)=1', processed='destination(uucp)=0', processed='destination(m
essages)=331', processed='destination(news)=0', processed='destination(iptables)=0', processed='destination(everything)=380', processed='dest
ination(lpr)=0', processed='destination(cron)=0', processed='destination(syslog)=2', processed='destination(authlog)=1', processed='destinati
on(errors)=2', processed='destination(kernel)=356', processed='destination(daemon)=20', processed='source(src)=381'
Dec 13 06:22:07 athena syslog-ng[2986]: Log statistics; processed='center(queued)=1095', processed='center(received)=382', processed='destina
tion(console)=0', processed='destination(mail)=0', processed='destination(user)=1', processed='destination(uucp)=0', processed='destination(m
essages)=331', processed='destination(news)=0', processed='destination(iptables)=0', processed='destination(everything)=381', processed='dest
ination(lpr)=0', processed='destination(cron)=0', processed='destination(syslog)=3', processed='destination(authlog)=1', processed='destinati
on(errors)=2', processed='destination(kernel)=356', processed='destination(daemon)=20', processed='source(src)=382'

I think that is something with glib2...

Thanks a lot.

Re: log

Could be a problem with syslog-ng. Do you have the latest package: syslog-ng-2.0.0-2?
From what you posted, It doesn't seem to be related to glib2. Does this error message appear often in your logs? It could be a problem of excessive logging.

It started yesterday first time. I am at work now and I don't what I updated but I ran pacman -Syu yesterday morning and when I came from work again. In the afternoon was kernel and I think syslog-ng. Than I start KDE, check email and it was unusual how is slow. I checked my flickr site and was slow too (very slow). It is very slow and I don't have nerves for waiting. I tought that is something with line but wifes computer with XP works same as before.

excessive logging: is this mean that program, Konqueror for example, waiting for cache or something like this, when I am surfing? Thanks.

Re: log

That syslog-ng line has nothing to do with it, it's just the default statistics output formerly consisting only of "STATS: dropped 0".

If I understand correctly, your internet is working fine now?

The "intel_rng: FWH not detected" is about  a random number generator chip. Probably it tries to detect it but your system doesn't have it.

Yes, my Internet is working fine. I don't understand why because I didn't change nothing.
Thank you for you help, Snowman smile.
