No sound at all but sound card is found

Hello,

I am having trouble setting up the sound system. I installed pipewire with the pipewire-pulse and wireplumber, and it seems like there are no available sources or sinks available, or any pulseaudio profiles at all (except for the Pro Audio profile from pipewire that does nothing).

pactl list sources

and

pactl list sinks

output nothing at all. However ALSA works and shows my sound card. I am able to change volumes through alsamixer but no sound at all comes through the speakers.

There are probably more outputs that will be required to troubleshoot the issue, but I am pretty new to Arch and I don't know which would be needed. The wikis state that this part of the audio system should work out of the box, and I haven't found any troubleshooting sections that reference my problem.

Thank you in advance!

Lucas

Re: No sound at all but sound card is found

Welcome to the boards.

Well does ALSA actually work and actually show you your sound card or are you mistaking the compat layer for pipewire for ana ctual card? What outputs do you get from

aplay -lL
sudo dmesg | grep -iE 'snd|sof'

What card/system is this exactly?

Hello,

Thank you for your quick reply. I think the card in alsa is real, because it tells me the chip name (Realtek ALC289). Here are the outputs you requested:
