Plasma is not able to conduct elevated operations

I just installed Arch with Plasma desktop and lightdm greeter.
All is good, but Plasma is not able to conduct elevated operations:
1. Network applet is not able to connect or disconnect to wifi stations. I was able to make it working by adding user to network group and adding a polkit rule for network manager, as described in the documentation, but this is not how it supposed to work
2. If I reboot from command line, it happens without problems, but if I try to do the same from Plasma UI, all windows go away but system is not rebooting
3. I was not able to change time zone using UI

Polkit daemon is running, although looking at it now, I see that I have mate's polkit, which may be a problem.

Removed mate's polkit and now I see the polkit daemon is running KDE polkit. Issue is still there.

In general, polkit elevation defaults assumes you to be part of the wheel group, is that the case? Also check whether your session is set up correctly, what's your output of

loginctl session-status

and please post outputs in code tags
