[solved] Do we need to update *-git packages every time?

hello there, Do we need to update the aur package when a new version is released in a git repository? Most of the `*-git` projects I've seen have few commits. And that's why this question came to my mind. When a package is released, I update it again with `makepkg -si`/` makepkg --printsrcinfo > .SRCINFO` and put it in aur. Is this correct?

thank you

No, as a package maintainer you don't need to 'bump' the PKGBUILD when the upstream repo updates. You should, however, update the PKGBUILD if the build function needs changes/the dependencies change, etc.

End users will always get the latest HEAD (assuming the PKGBUILD is written correctly), and the onus is on them to rebuild periodically to keep up-to-date.

Edit the title in the first post and add [SOLVED] or so.
