Hello!
The gdm login screen has an input field right under my display logo. Sadly my computer screen is very slow. So the logo showed by the screen from manufacturer ASUS is centered on top of the user name of the gdm login screen (for a few seconds) at start-up.
And the light blue around the user name is very ugly (yes, my opinion, excuses).
So instead of (start) trying to change the css file I thought perhaps a new login screen could be nice.
To activate lightdm I had made changes (in the conf file): remove the hashtag and name the right greeter.
#greeter-session=lightdm-slick-greeter
But also I had to end gdm.service and activate lightdm.service to get the login screen working. I did not find a better solution on the internet.
The change had some side effects. Screen lock was no longer working. Workaround is possible (dm-tool lock)
But long story short. Gnome extensions are no longer working.
Ok, not working without gdm.service, I can dig it. But also with gdm.service turned back on and lightdm turned off and hashtag moved back into place, no single change in Gnome extensions does change anything in my Gnome desktop.
Deleting browser cache and deleting (and activating) extension did not help.
Hope you can you can help.
Greetings!

Update: after removing gnome extensions from the browser and installing the connector via git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/gnome-browser-connector.git.
Extensions are working using gnome-extensions-app.
(during install a conflict was mentioned with chrome-gnome-shell. Remove chrome-gnome-shell" [y/N])
Probably reinstalling chrome-gnome-shell would be the solution.
Extenions are now working with lightdm-slick-greeter activated.
