[Solv] Problem with multiple identical SSD recognition from the kernel

Only one of multiple SSDs that are connected to an add-in-card (AIC) are recognized by the kernel, while the system fully recognizes all the SSDs in the AIC.

This is the same problem from https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/74916 persists on kernel 5.18.16-arch1-1 which I thought it was fixed, but the problem still persists.

I have not updated the kernel from 5.18.6-arch1-1 to 5.18.16-arch1-1 until the fix was applied. But it seems that I am getting the same problem described in the https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/74916.

I did create a post about this exact same issue not long ago : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=277378. Do I just need to do the same, applying the quirk and recompiling the kernel?

Re: [Solv] Problem with multiple identical SSD recognition from the kernel

https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke … 58f4fa3721 was unfortunately never backported to the 5.18.Y stable series.  It is however part of 5.19 which is in testing.

That sucks.... So, I guess I should recompile the kernel again, huh?

Or

# pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux/linux-5.19.arch1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.sig

Re: [Solv] Problem with multiple identical SSD recognition from the kernel

I guess it was a typo perhaps....?

This works

# pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux/linux-5.19.arch1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

And the SSD problem is gone. Yet, I get lot of weird error mesages such as

[ 4.445727] xhci_hcd 0000:63:00.2: PCI post-resume error -19!
[ 4.445736] xhci_hcd 0000:63:00.2: HC died; cleaning up

And when I tried to reboot the system, I was not able to because of the following error messages which would keep on spamming my screen

block device autoloading is deprecated and will be removed

Please post the journal for the failed boot.

It did not happen after forced reboot.
