Random connection drops on ethernet dongle

Hello,

Since about a week now my ethernet adapter seems to randomly drop connection once in a while. It could work for 6 hours then there could be 2 connection drops/freezes in a 30 minute window.

I got a Tuxedo InfinityBook S14 Gen6 and this USB Ethernet Adapter.
It worked flawlessly for over a year now.

How do I notice connection drops?

At some random point no DNS, no ping or any other type of connection works anymore.

For example nslookup just says that it could not reach any server:

$ nslookup services.home.services
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

Pinging another host on the network just times out as well:

$ ping 10.0.0.131
PING 10.0.0.131 (10.0.0.131) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=4 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=5 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=6 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=12 Destination Host Unreachable
From 10.0.0.10 icmp_seq=15 Destination Host Unreachable
^C

And the other way around (ping from another host to my broken machine) will timeout as well.

Existing SSH connection just hang until eventually the typcal "broken pipe" message appears.

At the time of the broken state nothing is logged right after the broken state in

journalctl

However after a few minutes NetworkManager will print this:

At about 21:22 connection drop happened and at around 21:30 NetworkManager dispatcher startet its post-down scripts I suppose.
Apart from that no logs it seems.

What helps to workaround?

I tried a few different things. What definitely restores the connection is to disable and enable "Networking" from the status bar (I use XFCE).
Unplugging and replugging the ethernet dongle works as well.

I currently try to find out if it is just the ethernet adapter being broke already so I just use my WiFi adapter only and see if the problem still happens.

What does not work?

I tried systemctl restart NetworkManager and this did not resolve the issue.
I also tried disabling usb autosuspend for the ethernet adapter via device ID in TLP. Did not work as well unfortunately.

Anyone got another idea I could try?
