I updated Arch on my computer today (had not done it for three weeks), and rebooted. Since then, the "CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor" applet shows the CPU frequency is at its maximum almost all the time. That applet is set to "Powersave", as was always the case.

On the other hand, the `top` command shows CPU usage is low, just a few percent as it should be.

The result of `vmstat 1 5` confirms the CPU is mostly idle:

Does anyone know how to fix the CPU frequency scaling? Am I the only one experiencing this problem after updating the system?

The problem apparently disappeared, after 14 months. I suppose some system update fixed it. Fingers crossed.
