[SOLVED] Update to linux-5.19 breaks booting encrypted LVM

Hello,

I updated my system yesterday. Before the update everything was working fine. After the update I was unable to to decrypt the LVM containing my root and home partition. As boot manager I use syslinux. When selecting a boot entry, I only see ../../vmlinuz-linux... ok and ../../initramfs-linux.img... ok. On a working boot, the screen would go blank after this and continue with "executing" the HOOKS from /etc/mkinitcpio.conf until I have to enter the password to decrypt the LVM. But I am unable to get there. It will stay at the syslinux select screen with ../../vmlinuz-linux... ok and ../../initramfs-linux.img... ok. Downgrading linux-5.19.1.arch back to linux-5.18.6.arch1 resolved the issue.

Any ideas? Do I miss something?

Regards,
BwK

Re: [SOLVED] Update to linux-5.19 breaks booting encrypted LVM

Issue was related to a bug in the Linux Kernel (see here) not to an encrypted LVM. It is solved with the latest version (5.19.6.arch1-1).
