I have reinstalled Arch after a long Linux break and I'm having issues getting my sound to work. I'm using onboard sound with Gigabyte Z370 Aorus gaming 2
I tried both the default Kernel and LTS with no luck
I have tried this https://docs.slackware.com/howtos:hardw … -hda-intel , some troubleshooting Reddit posts and the wiki (such as installing sof-firmware, unmuting, alsa-ucm-conf, alsa-firmware).
I also tried adding options snd-hda-intel module=auto to snd-hda-intel.conf in /etc/modprobe.d

Well I solved it, I ended up plugging my speakers to my headphone jack, and back to line out. went in to alsamixer and switched between sound cards and then ran sudo alsactl store.
Strange that I had to move the jack to another port and back, but hey it works now!
