[solved] pacman: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)

while attempting a daily routine update, this occurred

sudo pacman -Syu

The error with with gamescope. Shall I uninstall it and try again?

I safely uninstalled the package causing the issue and uninstalled the application that owned the conflicting files. I updated the system, then reinstalled the previously removed packages. all is good now. thanks.
