[SOLVED] xset noblank crashes picom

This problem began sometime this year...

picom crashes when screen saver turns on.

I upgraded picom in May so I was really hopeful downgrading would resolve, but it did not.

[2022-05-03T23:31:24-0400] [ALPM] upgraded picom (8.2-1 -> 9.1-3)

I imagine a workaround to restart picom when it crashes will suffice... any ideas on a fix?

Thanks!

(noblank is essential, I do not want the power to the displays turning off)

Also post your xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General and your picom config and speculatively the output of "glxinfo -B"

Re: [SOLVED] xset noblank crashes picom

Problem is no long occurring.

Also, I saw firefox crashdumps, too, but never experienced ANY issue with firefox ever.

It looks like the layout of screens can't have any empty space.

...

I no longer use the 1080 TV. Removed.
Reverted vertical 4k back to landscape. Now slock no longer kills picom. xset does.
Rebooted. xset is working correctly now, too.

NON-working:

1080 TV
4k TV (landscape)
4k TV (vertical)

NON-working:

4k TV (landscape)
4k TV (vertical)

Working:

4k TV (landscape)
4k TV (landscape)

errors and output.
