[SOLVED] Return to X session gui by Ctrl+Alt+F1 not working

Normally, I remember being able to switch around tty1, tty2... tty6 by Ctrl+Alt+F1 etc. even if there was a gui on one of them.
I would login to tty1, startx and then start my desktop environment.
But now, if I switch off of tty1, I cannot use Alt+F1 or any such combination to return to the gui, even if I log in to another tty.
I had to use `chvt 1` to return.
Does anyone know what's up with this?

Works dandy here.  Plasma on Wayland started from the console on tty1, i3 started from startx on tty2, emacs on tty3, login screen on tty4.

What wm are you using?  Tell us about your system.

Edit: Have you more than one Ctrl or Alt key?

That, except, unlike him, when in the other ttys, I am still free to switch among them with (Ctrl+)Alt+F2-6.

Showkey made me suspicious enough to check my keyboard itself.
I tried with another keyboard and it looks like it's just my normal keyboard has F1 broken.
