The Best Looking Terminal in the World

I just installed Arch yesterday and I've decided to go for a minimal style using E17 or FVWm. thing is, I need a good terminal app, since I want to avoid too many GUI programs. So the question is, what is the best looking terminal app in the world?

Re: The Best Looking Terminal in the World

I'm actually using gnome-terminal now. It was the only one that I could get to display the font I wanted properly. It looks pretty nice.

If the font looks a little funny it's because I'm using sub-pixel hinting. It should look like any other xft font.

What exactly do you mean by "the right configs"?

Yakuake is also pretty elegant and might be worth a look. It behaves like the console in Quake (scrolls down fromt he top when you hit the shortcut), It  also supports rightclick -> copy and such things by default.

Personally I use aterm.

xterm +

tyler@tungsten ~ $ cat .Xdefaults
XTerm*background: black
XTerm*foreground: white
XTerm*font: 7x14

good enough for me.

Re: The Best Looking Terminal in the World

Aterm, I used this guide to configure:

http://linuxreviews.org/software/x11-terms/aterm/

My settings in .Xdefaults:

aterm*loginShell:true
aterm*foreground:White
aterm*background:Grey45
aterm*scrollBar:false
aterm*scrollBar_right:true
aterm*transpscrollbar:true
aterm*saveLines:32767
aterm*font:*-*-fixed-medium-r-normal--*-140-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
aterm*boldFont:*-*-fixed-bold-r-normal--*-*-140-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
aterm*geometry:60x20
aterm*transparent:true
aterm*shading:60

Edit: Damn, too slow.

Yet another vote for urxvt. The package is called rxvt-unicode, by the way.

Re: The Best Looking Terminal in the World

A vote for mrxvt, also if you do not need tabs. Very lightweight (it uses less memory than xterm and urxvt, and just a bit more than aterm), easy font management, possibility of defining personal keyboard shortcuts in an easy way in the config file and of changing everything on the fly (toglle the menubar, the scrollbar, the tabbar...).
