[SOLVED] GUI stuterring issues on ThinkPad X1 Carbon

I have been experiencing issues on my new arch install on my ThinkPad X1 Carbon G10. Some GUIs, including but not limited to, Nextcloud client, SuperSlicer, Brave, and mpv continuously stutter when launched, making them unusable. However, other applications such as Firefox and Evolution work fine with no issues. I have had no luck fixing the issue over the past week, and hope someone with more knowledge has the key.  Below is a list of relevant hardware and software information.

Hardware

Remove xf86-video-intel it is too old and will try to load a older GL implementation that doesn't exist for your GPU anymore, leading to swrast and software rendering being invoked..

That fixed it, thank you! However, now I can no longer change the brightness via xbacklight.  Any recommendations?

yes stop using xbacklight and use literally anything else, conveniently acpilight provides a compatibility drop-in that will accept the same arguments while doing the correct thing: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Backli … _utilities
