Hi all,
I have a Macbook Air mid 2013 with an Arch installed. I've had wifi working with the broadcom-wl-dkms drivers since February of this year. I was trying to install plymouth today and was able to get that working, but now my wifi has stopped working. I uninstalled plymouth and undid any changes I made and my wifi is still not working.
Here is the output to my dmesg command checking the wl module:
sudo dmesg | grep wl
[ 42.847171] wl: module license 'MIXED/Proprietary' taints kernel.
[ 43.061047] failed to validate module [wl] BTF: -22
[ 348.257237] failed to validate module [wl] BTF: -22
And here is the network card I have:
03:00.0 "Network controller" "Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries" "BCM4360 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter" -r03 -p00 "Apple Inc." "Device 0117"
I have tried to reinstall the broadcom-wl-dkms package to no avail.
Please let me know how I can fix this, thanks!

Update your system again there was a bug in pahole leading to an issue with all DKMS builds, that lead to pahole getting force downgraded, make sure you get pahole 1:1.23-1 thenn install the broadcom-wl-dkms package again/rebuild the modules with
sudo dkms autoinstall

Thank you! I had to manually downgrade to pahole 1.23-1 but doing that and then reinstalling the broadcom-wl-dkms package and restarting my system fixed the issue. Any idea how long I will have to keep it downgraded?

It's already been downgraded with an epoch in the repos, there's no need to manually downgrade or hold anything. Just update the sysetm.

Hmmm I was having an issue earlier when I updated the system that it kept trying to upgrade to the newer version which is why I downgraded. I have checked again and you are correct. I have removed it from my ignored packages now. I'll have to investigate if the mirror I am using is slow to sync. Thanks for the update!
