[SOLVED]Volume very low after system update (ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9)

Hello, I don't know where exactly this fits, but as it is probably a simple problem, it's not completly wrong here.
After updating my system today (utterly vanilla arch linux) my speakers only produce sound at very low volume and with very bad quality. I already checked the wiki, but didn't find the cause and a real solution (I didn't want to try the "hotfixes").
All my master volumes, etc. are maxed out according to alsamixer; I'm using pipewire and wireplumber.

lspci -v|grep -i -A7 sound

outputs

00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Tiger Lake-LP Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller (rev 20) (prog-if 80)
	Subsystem: Lenovo Device 22d5
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 64, IRQ 179
	Memory at 603d1d8000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
	Memory at 603d000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]
	Capabilities: <access denied>
	Kernel driver in use: sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl
	Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl

Thanks for any help and I hope I'm using the forum correctly.

Likely some kernel change, what's your

amixer -c0
pactl list sinks
pactl list sink-inputs

during that.

Solved after installation of new kernel.

Re: [SOLVED]Volume very low after system update (ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9)

Hi yuvalk,
I'm also no specialist in the specifics of Linux-related audio architecture; I just updated to Kernel 5.19.5-arch1-1, that fixed it for me as far as I remember. But I did a few other updates as well later on, so my configuration differs not *only* by the updated kernel.
Regarding microphones: In my case, somehow the the input-volume was randomly (at least to me randomly) resetted, maybe also check that.
I hope this helps, good luck!
