DE: KDE Plasma X11
I originally had three keyboard layouts configured including QWERTY US, DVORAK US and JP. With QWERTY as the highest priority option. Today I suddenly could no longer switch between them with my shortcuts (meta+spc, meta+alt+k) nor could I do it manually by using the mouse and selecting the layout there. The animation for switching down in the taskbar plays as normal, but nothing happens, it's stuck on "us" (as in us dvorak).
Now I can change it with setxkbmap but that feels patched over and like it is not solving the real problem.
What's bewildering is that even after removing the dvorak option in the layout options, trying to switch layouts results in the animation playing for a tiny bit then going back to "us" (again dvorak) which makes no sense since it should not even be an option, and yet it is added automatically?
Now I am wondering if I could just nuke tho config files for this and reset to default, but I don't know where to find them, whether Xor KDE or something else entirely is responsible, so I am in a bit of a pickle.
So after a bit of fiddling I figured it was probably something to do with the input method related packages I installed today, anthy, uim and fcitx. After uninstalling those packages and rebooting, the issue was gone, so altho that has been resolved I still wonder which of those specifically broke it. As I do not know too much about uim or fcitx.
