Hi!
On an Asrock N3700 mini-ITX board I run Kodi for years with success. Once set up, all things tended to work fine. VA-API was doing proper playback of Video streams (tvheadend pvr) + mpv files (mkv containers).
I do regularly a "pacman -Suy" to keep up with fixes / releases.
A week ago I noticed distorted / sluggish video playbacks, either way (pvr / mkv files).
Checked if VA-API is still active - it is. I'm using libva-intel-driver due to age of CPU/GPU.
Currently I don't have clue, what to check, optionally what to roll back to have a working video output again.
Any hints available?

I can confirm this problem. The blockiness/pixelation of the output occurs both with mpv and vlc with hardware acceleration enabled. It affects both h264 and h265 videos. Disabling hardware acceleration eliminates the problem (but makes h265 HD videos not playable because of the weak processor). Perhaps of note, the corrupted playback of hardware accelerated video does not crash or produce error messages with mpv. This is a new install so I can't say how long the problem has existed.

Thank you! I read the issue on intel's github last night but didn't see the connection. After switching to the LTS kernel all works well.

Can confirm that the trouble started with kernel update to 5.19. Rolled back to linux 5.18.16-arch1 via archlve.archlinux.org. Rebooted. The trouble is now circumvented.
Let's wait when the showed fix will show up downstream.
