[SOLVED] Wine Virtual Setup Exception
Hey guys, I am having an issue while running a Windows executable with wine. I get the following log message in the console after running wine Setup.exe from the directory that contains this exe.
01dc:err:virtual:virtual_setup_exception stack overflow 836 bytes in thread 01dc addr 0x40704f stack 0x550cbc (0x550000-0x551000-0x650000)I am using wine-7.16. I did some searching and came across this post on winehq forum regarding this same issue. OP was using wine-7.4, switching to a different version solved the problem for him. Is the issue related to wine or have I done something wrong? I have used this guide for getting more general info on wine and installation, and according to it I simply installed wine using pacman.

Thank you for your patience @V1del. I was trying to run a non-steam game (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly) but my wine was not setup properly thus resulting into this mess. I removed wine and winetricks completely and did a clean install following this guide. After that I installed dxvk for this prefix from here.

Does it work now? Note that this guide promotes a partial upgrade which is not supported, you should run a pacman -Syu if you followed that, and generally for plain wine setup you should first look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Wine#Installation before venturing to outside sources.
