Hello,
I've a freshly installed arch (0.7.2, updated from the web already).
I'm using kde (for a quite long time now). At work, as well as at home.
Now, i've finally a problem with the fresh-install on my new machine here.
When i login as root user in kde, everything works fine.
When i login with my user account, i always get "login failed".
The password definitely is correct, since i can login using the console.
the permissions of my home directory are set properly.
[root@ggpc ~]# ls -la /home/ggrabler/
insgesamt 32
drwx------ 2 ggrabler users 4096 17. Dez 16:32 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 17. Dez 16:16 ..
-rw------- 1 ggrabler users 68 17. Dez 16:32 .bash_history
-rw-r--r-- 1 ggrabler users 16 17. Dez 16:16 .bash_profile
-rw-r--r-- 1 ggrabler users 48 17. Dez 16:16 .bashrc
-rw------- 1 ggrabler users 674 17. Dez 16:32 .viminfo
-rwxr-xr-x 1 ggrabler users 160 17. Dez 16:16 .xinitrc
-rwxr-xr-x 1 ggrabler users 100 17. Dez 16:16 .xsession
[root@ggpc ~]#
My user has users as main group.
The user is registered in the following groups:
[root@ggpc ~]# su ggrabler
[ggrabler@ggpc root]$ groups
root bin daemon adm disk wheel mail log hal video audio optical storage camera users
[ggrabler@ggpc root]$
Has anyone an idea on this?
Thank you,
STi

"ops"
Okay, forgot about the language option for my keyboard in the xorg.conf.
Sure, kde settings work - when it's loaded .
Sorry, my mistake, i'll flagg it as "solved"
