Dual Monitor(HDMI & DP) DP Monitor constantly waking in sleep mode

I have a dual screen setup and when Arch goes into sleep mode the DP monitor power cycles between off and active. In active state it doesn't display any just states it is active. I had this setup before on a differnt desktop that worked as expected. Is there a kernal setting or a firmware bug that might cause this. I switched from Nivida to AMD. I see a bunch of this in the log. This is for the HDMI monitor

I have experniced this across multiple distros. I did just discover if the the HDMI mointer gets powered off the DP mointer sleeps as expected. Not sure which other log to look into to see what is causing this.
