virt-manager 4.1.0 always hanging when attempting to run a VM

For whatever god-forsaken reason that's driving me insane, virt-manager has decided that it always wants to freeze whenever I try and run a VM. I have to end up killing virt-manager as it never dies on its own. The VM is shown as running if I kill and restart virt-manager, so that's something.

I've tried doing the apparmor fix, I've reinstalled virt-manager and its dependencies, I've read the wiki pages for libvirt and virt-manager and followed the configuration steps, I've reset the dconf settings, and generally metaphorically beat my head against a wall that seems impenetrable.

I'm at a total loss, because there's no logs anywhere, apart from journalctl, which is generally unhelpful:

Re: virt-manager 4.1.0 always hanging when attempting to run a VM

Curiously... virt-manager doesn't seem to freeze if I start the VM while in the hardware details section, but as soon as I click "show the graphical console" while it is running, it immediately hangs.

I'm quite baffled as to... how such an odd error even happens. Nobody else seems to have my issue, either.
