I have just started using arch and am new to linux in general. I got kde plasma working but it doesn't seem to be recognizing my second monitor, which is connected to my laptop via hdmi. Here is the output of
xrandr -q
Screen 0: minimum 16 x 16, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 32767 x 32767
XWAYLAND0 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 340mm x 190mm

it doesnt say disconnected or anything, it just doesnt recognize the external monitor. same case when I look in display configuration.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
issue has been resolved. first i switched to x11 instead of wayland, but then only my external monitor worked, so i rebooted and logged into plasma x11 and it worked.

Just curious, what does arandr show you?
Im also curious what Wayland buys you in your instance that Xorg does not?
Are you using Wayland simply because its a buzz word or is there a specific need?

(arandr:11915): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 14:01:54.656: gdk_atom_intern: assertion 'atom_name != NULL' failed
(arandr:11915): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 14:01:54.656: gdk_atom_intern: assertion 'atom_name != NULL' failed
it also opens a screen layout manager which also doesnt recognize my external monitor
I am using wayland because i was instructed to on the website i was following to install kde plasma. if i can resolve the issue with xorg i will gladly switch it. how would i do that?
