Bluetooth issues with Intel AX200

I'm having a ton of issues with my onboard Bluetooth card, which is an Intel AX200. The one I want to focus on is that my Shure 50 Bluetooth headphones keep connecting and disconnecting, and audio isn't playing through them.

Here's how it goes:

  • I power on my Bluetooth radio

  • I press connect on the Shure 50 headphones in Bluedevil (KDE Plasma's Bluetooth manager)

  • Sometimes the headphones connect immediately, sometimes they don't, but they always eventually connect.

  • The headphones will eventually disconnect, and then connect again. It just keeps doing this.

When the headphones disconnect, I get this in journalctl:

Oct 02 18:28:55 snowy bluetoothd[619]: src/profile.c:ext_io_disconnected() Unable to get io data for Hands-Free Voice gateway: getpeername: Transport endpoint is not connected (107)

Oct 02 18:28:59 snowy bluetoothd[619]: src/profile.c:record_cb() Unable to get Hands-Free Voice gateway SDP record: Host is down

When it connects, I get this:

Oct 02 18:30:53 snowy kernel: input: Shure 50 (AVRCP) as /devices/virtual/input/input27
Oct 02 18:30:53 snowy systemd-logind[623]: Watching system buttons on /dev/input/event23 (Shure 50 (AVRCP))

Even when the headphones are connected, I get no audio out of them.

I'm using Pipewire and WirePlumber for my audio.

I also tried using bluez-git, but that didn't fix it.

bluez version: 1:5.65.r111.g25a31f5a9-1
pipewire version: 1:0.3.58-1

Re: Bluetooth issues with Intel AX200

Do you still have bluetooth issues? Mine never went away despite multiple reports of other people reporting success. Honestly it drives me crazy and I'm about to sell my motherboard to get a new one with a different bluetooth chip.

Re: Bluetooth issues with Intel AX200

No, sadly. I ended up just getting a Bluetooth adapter.
