White screen with USB-C monitor on RTX 2060 Max-Q

My setup:

ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop (GA401IV-BR9N6) with RTX 2060 Max-Q
CalDigit USB-C HDMI Dock
2x 4K external monitors (TVs that support YUV 4:4:4 via HDMI)

1) When I enable the external monitors, often both will correctly switch to the right resolution, but then one (the left one) will turn all-white after a short period of time
2) Sometimes the monitors aren't detected and I have to unplug and replug the USB-C cable (the other USB devices are fine)

but the integrated graphics are AMD-based, not Intel.

I have the graphics mode switched to nvidia in asusctl.

Let me know any other diagnostic information that would be helpful.
