Documents folder has magicaly disappeared

So my Documents folder has disappeared deleting all my files in it. I didn't delete it manually and one hour ago it was completely fine.
I have a backup with some files but i would like to restore my actualized files, any idea what happened?

PD: the other folders like Downloads or Pictures are completely fine

Make a list of the programs that you were using and then search online for known bugs that cause them to delete the Document directory. If some program is randomly deleting directories then I would expect someone to report it.

You mention that you have a backup. Do you have any sort of backup or synchronization service set up that could modify the directory?

Maybe you were just unlucky enough to get hit by a cosmic ray in just the right way to remove the directory's inode. Without more information, there's no way to tell.

You may be able to recover some files. Check the [File recovery page](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/File_recovery) for suggestions.
