Opera 9.10 released (pacman package attached)

For you Opera lovers which want a working premade package of the 9.10 release until they update it:

http://adiza.nexticom.net/files/package … pkg.tar.gz

:: opera: local (9.10-1) appears to be newer than repo (extra/9.02-1)

Is this the devel version or is it the current one?

This version rocks my socks off. Flash works. Movies work. Sound works. Images work. Everything works.

*sighs* I'll be hesitant to upgrade from this.

Good work! smile Though it is rather sad that dorphell does not come around updating all his packages. Maybe it is time for him to step back but who am I to say that? Anyway, thanks for the Package!

Re: Opera 9.10 released (pacman package attached)

thx for the package.

One thing: When i want to open attached *.doc files in a email this appears:
'/home/matze/OpenOffice.org1.1.4/soffice' file or directory not found!
I installed already OO2. I cannot change this in the preferences. I use nautilus and doc files are opened in OO2. Any hints?

THX!!

Downloaded , installed via ...pacman -Ud (pkg).

Opera does not open.....

Who moved this topic and what makes it suitable to "AUR Package Requests"? This is not a request. It's just something provided which the maintainers do not. Seemingly appreciated by the users smile

May I ask what's the difference between the 2 versions?

Thanks in advance!

opera-statis uses a static version of qt, meaning that people can grab it without also needed qt is a dependency.

Re: Opera 9.10 released (pacman package attached)

Thx for the reply!

Which of the 2 versions is better or are they basically comparable as far as performance etc. is concerned?

If I understand it correctly... opera-static is simply opera plus a specific version of qt in a package.

Thanks in advance!

Both packages are the same program, just linked in different way.

No, opera-static doesn't contain any qt files in it. It is statically linked, which means qt code is included in opera binary.

I experienced, that in the static linked package, fonts look a little bit worse than in the "normal" one.

Re: Opera 9.10 released (pacman package attached)

Is opera-static faster than the normal opera? Also, if i start opera-static from console, i see this error;

Qt: Locales not supported on X server

What does that mean?

Finally, it has the same issue with java which causes java applets to open separately which says "opera will reparent me into 1235455."
