Desktop environment: GNOME
Device model: Thinkpad X13 AMD Gen 1
Steps to produce problem:
1. Connect bluetooth headset (Sony WH-CH510) using GNOME bluetooth settings.
2. In the sound settings, there are two options for the output device: Speaker (laptop speakers) and Headset (bluetooth headset). Select Headset.
Result:
Some sounds come out of the headset, and others out of the speaker. Specifically, when I turn the volume up and down, the "indicator" sound that GNOME produces comes out of the headset, and the on-screen display says "Headset." However, all other sounds seem to come out of the laptop speaker, including the sounds produced by the output device test in the sound settings.
Update:
It looks like the same problem mentioned at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1823572. And possibly https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-co … ssues/1316. I installed the extension https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … e-chooser/ and that seems to set the device properly. But I shouldn't have to use that extension as a workaround, so this is still an issue. Also, that extension currently only supports up to GNOME 42, and GNOME 43 is already out (and in testing in the Arch repos).
