Mouse stops moving on right click

Hello,

I recently got a new mouse. Now I have the problem that when right clicking mouse movement is prevented at times. Releasing the right mouse button lets it move again.

It seems to happen more frequently if I use the scroll wheel beforehand, which makes me think it could be some touchpad related behavior or something. It's not a touchpad though, and a regular USB mouse. I don't have synpatics installed though. I tried evdev and libinput.

Re: Mouse stops moving on right click

Does the movement show up in "sudo evtest"?

Re: Mouse stops moving on right click

No, it does not.

I compared with another physical mouse that doesn't have the problem. Other than the device node and product id the xinput output matches.

Re: Mouse stops moving on right click

No, it does not.

Did you test the mouse against a different system? Cause there's a good chance it's the HW.

Re: Mouse stops moving on right click

I didn't yet have a chance to but you might be right after all. I tried to rule out a couple of obvious signs of hardware issues, opening it up, taking a look, see if shaking for example does anything (it doesn't) and so on. Yet, I don't find any indication that it's not somehow hardware related. So sorry for the noise and thanks for looking into this. Have a nice day!
